Oooh! Books! Some of my favories are "Clan of the Cave Bear" by Jean Auel, "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon, "On a Pale Horse" by Piers Anthony, and for a quick fantasy read, anything by Tamora Pierce.
If read already not (a random list off the top of my head):
A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens The Picture of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde Hard Times, Charles Dickens Moby Dick, Herman Melville The World According to Garp, John Irving The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Robert A. Heinlein The Time Machine, H.G. Wells Hamlet, William Shakespeare (Even though it is meant for adolescents) A Wrinkle in Time, Medeleine L'Engle Oryx and Crake, Margaret Atwood
Also, any compilation of short stories is always good. They're like boxes of chocolates!

Oryx and Crake sounds like I should read it, I like Atwood.
