Wow, that's a great list!
I second almost everything on it (esp. the sci-fi/fantasy section!) ...the only stuff I don't second is the stuff I haven't read ;) *picks up pencil and madly scribbles down titles*
But I have to add Neil Gaiman's "Stardust". It's one of my favouritest rainy day stories - a fairy tale for adults that is just the right balance of cerebral journey, magic and poetic prose :)

Oh yes, I should have added more Neil Gaiman, although perhaps his Good Omens, which means I should also have added Terry Pratchett as well (always good for cheering somebody up)
i am too sleepy and fuzzybrained to think properly, but maybe...

Well it was the worse day of the year last week! So my prescription is to fly out to Australia (or South Africa, or Brazil), lie on the beach in lots of sunshine, and take interesting drugs while going to raves.

thank you entheo! yr a prince as always!
as a matter of fact i'm seriously thinking about going to australia to study. some form of psychology. but in this day & age there are an overwhelming amount of choice available & that usually just leaves me confused & i don't choose at all. i don't know what i need to be able to study in australia. i think i need to do an understanding of the english language test & also translate my grades to yr scale. i have translated them here in thew u.k but have no idea who to turn to to do the same in australia.
also, there are so many, many roads in the psychology field.
& on top of this winter has struck me hard & i'm not exactly happy & bursting with fruit flavour so to speak.
but i really want to get it together so i can get out of here. as a friend of mine so wisely said about when she started studying law: "well, i was really depressed & since nothing was fun (not even "fun" things) i figured i might as well do something boring (but useful)."
