The Finger in the Nest

I got teary eyes with that episode because any show that deals with dog fighting is going to do that to me. That part was really sad especially when a happy Brennan who had gotten a tag for Riply found out he was dead.

The episode was much better that last week's or the premiere. There was humor, romantic chemistry but also a good plot that wasn't complicated to follow and character development.

Hodgins' breakdown or break through was moving and reflected what the audience was feeling in a way. We (I at least) are still missing Zack and thinking the Hart Hanson move was idiotic. We are hating that Angela and Hodgins are broken up (and for HH to take such a lovely ship away). Even Sweets assessment that it was good to just hate until Jack stopped hating almost seemed to subtle hint to the audience. (Even if we hate what they done, they want us to still turn in.) It was nice character development for Hodgins and TJ did a great job with his scenes. The "I'ld say King of the Lab but it would just depressed me" hit me at the core. I miss the whole king of the lab stuff and Zack and the thought that it can't be said is a bit depressing.

The dog that played Riply was so adorable- it made his death even more impactful. Will anyone get the last image of the goodbye out of their mind? The storyline showed nice character growth for Brennan who not only was horrified by what she say but grew attached to another being. So attached she sounded like a new mom getting day care set and buying supplies. It was nice to see such an emotional Brennan.

The Booth/Bones dynamic was in full force. There was the funny ("What do I look like Ranger Rick?") to the meaningful (Booth helping bury the dog). Great ep but still so sad :(
