He obviously has a drug problem...just b/c he hit bottom doesn't mean it's b/c you broke up with him. You did the right thing. You can't always think about other people...you weren't happy, you had every right to get out of the relationship. It seems like the only way he knows how to do deal with things is to not deal with it...and take drugs to make him feel better. Sweety, you are so much better then that, and you deserve to be happy. Someone like that will only bring you down.
