I think it is high time we treat the month of October as nonexistent from now on. Nothing good comes of it on this ship ( Read more... )

Supposing I remain here forever. Considering the expectations placed upon me in wake of my recovery, I have given it serious consideration.

Kitchen duty is hardly fatal, Lucius.

Need it be.

Choose somewhere interesting, that you as a Warden are permitted access, and I, as an Inmate, am not. We can take our conversation there.

Punishment is unpleasant. That is why it is a punishment.

Will the pub suit your tastes? Early in the day, we may have some privacy.

I have not read far enough, nor has the narrative been especially revealing, as it's from the point of view of one confused teenaged boy. He wants to know if his son has been marked. You would know that better than I.

And go on.

He was Marked, and I intend to make Lucius aware of that fact.

I don't particularly care regarding your particular brand of flirtation, but mention of Rodolphus and his behaviour after Bellatrix's death is likely hurting her more than you intended.

They have no children together, but I suspect it is not for lack of trying. Given a conversation we had during this recent truth flood, I am inclined to say that it's a wound and you've just poured salt in it.

I did not have that information but I knew that I was not being particularly delicate when I made that remark.

The woman goaded my Inmate into attempting to kill me and very well would have tried, herself, with or without my striking up a conversation with her. People who hurl stones, or hexes, should not live in glass houses, as the saying goes. I will not bait her further on that subject, however.

I am not defending her actions - not in the least. She is a mad dog, Marquis.

I would simply be hesitant to stick my fingers in the wounds of rabid animals.

Or your own.

She wants to take me to a wandmaker. I don't know if the Admiral would even allow it, unless we put into port in your world or some version of it.

Nothing good comes of October anywhere these days.

What is the suggestion?

Merlin forbid we agree upon something, Black.

Dick Grayson, to my knowledge, engages in sparring matches and self-defense lessons. If you are amenable, I'd like you to attend.

[Being polite is physically paining him.]

Was I disagreeing? Here I thought I was adding to your point.

Why?

It was a facetious stateme -

Never mind.

I think the outlet provided by physical exertion will help as a stopgap measure.

Unless, of course, you'd prefer to duel me on a daily basis.

I will do my best. I can't avoid them forever.

I so dislike when you say that. It generally means you have no intention of avoiding them.

I'll do my best. However, Lucius lives right now the hallway. I can't avoid him.

Then relocation to your room might be wise after tonight.
