[T'Pol spent a while trying to think of the right thing to say; 'it's been a privilege' doesn't sound quite right, but she has to say something. So after a while, she turns on her video feed, and gives him a Vulcan salute.]
I have regarded you as more friend than 'job' in the past year. Live long, and prosper, Severus.
I think I hardly have any right to complain about the questionable nature of your decisions. I did turn a man into a blue tortoise and elope with a fellow warden, after all.
I cannot begin to understand why you profess to care about what happens to me here. You've repeatedly explained that we are not friends, and that whatever friendship I did feel existed between us was only a lie you told.
I won't say you haven't given me something to think about. I do wish you weren't leaving, but I can't imagine why you would stay, either. That said, I think you're wrong. What I need isn't here. And from everything I've heard since I came to be here, what I need isn't back home either.
I won't engage in any sort of debate with you about whether or not I have any reason or incentive to change who I am. You don't want to hear it, and I really don't want to try and convince you. Such efforts would be utterly fruitless on both our parts. I will only say that I don't believe I will have the sort of success you claim to have had here.
I'm only saying this to you because I am confident that we shall not meet again. It is my understanding that we cannot. I hope you find more solace when you return. For whatever you say I

...Thank you, Snape.
And for the record, I will miss you. But I wish you and Martha all of the best, because you're right. This isn't a place to have a life.
