Sadness...

Feb 24, 2008 13:53

Apologies in advance for the Real Life entry... and especially what will likely be viewed as especially over-reacting and maudlin.

I am incredibly sad right now.

I have been refusing to speculate on this, because Buddy is far too loved to be gone.  I've mentioned it to Leslie and Sher, but not really gotten into it, trying to be optimistic despite my ( Read more... )

Thanks Mosh. :) I hope so too... though I'm starting to give way to my pessimism. *sigh* But really, thank you. :)

Since I haven't been online much and my stupid computer's been going half insane, I just realized I never copied and pasted he comment I wanted to leave you on your 393 the other day. I'm gonna do that now. XD

I can't believe I forgot...

I'd go completely insane if my cat vanished on me...or if my dogs had. I've loved pets to bits, way more than many people in my family, so I know exactly how you feel. So no, you're not overreacting. At all. But you know, you couldn't have known this would happen - so don't feel guilty either. Sometimes things just go wrong. It's usually nobody's fault.

*big hugs* look, there's even a huggy icon.

Thank you, love. I really appreciate the lovin. I started thinking and I'm almost sure he's gone for good... and it hurt my heart. :( He was such a good (really fat) kittykitty.

*hugs back* Thanks, Ten-chan. (got used to hearing you referred to as such, and so she can't help but do the same! XD)

I need a huggy icon of some kind... hmm...

Yeah, I can empathise. It's not happened to me and I truly hope it won't in the future either. It's even worse than actually having a pet die - which I've seen way more than I want to of - because of the gnawing uncertainty.

Ahaha. ^_^ Feel free. So that's how Ken-chan refers to me, hmm.

Huggy icons are rare but lovely. I was lucky to find this once.

Well, I hear Niru (hear, not see, so forgive mispelling XD) often enough as well, but when she's gushing she goes with Ten-chan. XD

The uncertainty sucks. Suuuuccckkkkkks. Nyah...

Oh, I am so sorry. ::hugs:: No, it's not stupid to feel like crying about it. I work at a veterinary clinic, and for every client who comes in to find out what's wrong with their animal, only to decide it's not worth spending the money to treat because it's "just a cat/dog," there is one who will do whatever it takes to make the animal better, no question about it, because it's his or her "baby," like a member of the family.

Sadly, I suspect you may be right about Buddy; cats, in particular, are very good at hiding when they are sick. I can't tell you the number of times someone has brought a cat in, saying the pet just hasn't been acting right the past week, and after some tests we find out the animal has an ongoing problem which would have taken weeks, even months to set in.

I was devastated when my first frog died, and Xpyne and I still take it hard any time one of our babies is sick, so we know how you feel. u_u

I was thinking the same thing about it. We rushed him in for $1500 surgery two years ago because he ate too much plastic stuff (ribbon and such) and the doctor told us if something went wrong again... well. I wonder if maybe he was chewing on the Xmas presents this year without us knowing. :( I suppose it is better this way then finding him dead... but the not knowing is really hard.

I'm in a bit of a rush (not a big one, just a little one XD) and my internet is being wonky, so I'm replying to you both in one comment. I'm not sure why one of my icons is trying to kill my internet...

Anyway, both of you, thank you so much. :) I'm sad and I miss him... but now I'm more upset and dreading trying to explain this to my daughter. She has a habit of blowing things out of proportion and has a bit of a fear of the mere idea of death... ugh. This won't go well.

*hugs to you both* Thankies. :)
