I'd tell ya to do what I did and just move halfway across the country to get away from it all, but I guess you've already moved halfway across the world :P
I actually have close relatives in Victoria that I don't talk to for stupid boring reasons, but basically like you said, theres more kinds of family than just blood. I mean look at that kid from the jungle book.
