On 9/11/01 I was at work when someone told me a plane had crashed into one of the World Trade Center Towers. I wondered about it, but was busy, so I didn't check the internet. Even over here in the UK, 9/11 is a day I'll never forget. Even 12 years on, I still remember with clarity the phone waking me at a couple of minutes to 14:00 - just minutes (local time) after the first plane hit the World Trade Center. Then my mother asking me if I knew what had happened but dropping the phone before I answered. Hearing all the screams and cries of shock as those where she was gathered around a TV, watching the next one hit. The air seemingly completely evaporating from the space around me as I turned the TV on just in time to see the second plane hit. Being glued to the sofa as the rest of the day unfolded...

It's a day no-one should ever forget.
