I have a doctor's appt. tonight at 8 p.m. I'm hoping they can give me something that will stop the coughing enough to let me sleep. Sigh. I've lost my voice, something which Annie is finding vastly amusing - waaaayyy too amusing, I must say. It feels like bronchitis, which I've had before, but I only have a little bit of right lung, so no point in ( Read more... )

Oh, good luck. I ended up with whooping cough a couple of years ago, which you DO NOT WANT. (And since we're all friends here, not the least of the annoyances for my bad coughing fits are urinary incontinence. So awful!)

I got a 40=something count package of Poise pads on my way out of the pharmacy this morning. I cannot laugh or cough without leaking at little, but the paroxysms I'm having have just been....dear god, I have become my mother.

The doctor signed me off work for the remainder of the week; work did not even squeak - apparently so many people have this bronchitis/virus bug that they didn't even question me when I called last night to tell the night supervisor to tell my day shift supervisor I would be out, with documentation from my doctor. She just started telling me about all the people who are out. And then we're due for about a foot of snow tomorrow, which at this point, I'm like "OK." Because it's either that or run screaming into a snow bank, naked, and scare the bears and the wild turkey herd.

Everybody at work either has it, had it and is getting over it, or is hoping they don't get it. I was one of six people who had "emergency squeeze you in" appointments with my doctor last night, and we all sounded like we had croup.

They put me on Cefdinir 300 mg caps twice a day, three prednisone 10 mg tabs once a day, and Zofran for nausea PRN. I finally put on some ear buds and listened to a loud thunderstorm until I fell asleep. Kept waking myself up to cough, but it was better than the night before!

I'm so glad you're going to the doctor. It could be just a cough, but you never know. A friend of mine had a bad cough and it turned out to be pneumonia. After a round of antibiotics, she's feeling so much better.

I'm on Cefdinir for 10 days and prednisone to reduce the bronchial inflammation which should help stop the wheezing. Which I will NOT miss - it's like having to listen to yourself snore!

I would read that story with pleasure, but I wish you didn't have the personal experience to base it on. Best wishes for a quick recovery (and hooray for evening hours at a doctor's!)

I'm just so glad I've got health insurance and could go to the doctor, get meds, etc. I've been without so this is better, even being sick. I'd love to read a story where Merlin turned Arthur temporarily into something when he's being such a prat - and he'd make a cute toaster *G*.
