Just got a news flash from the NYT that Leonard Nimoy has died.

He was a huge part of the reason I started reading science fiction as a child.  And I loved Star Trek - Mr. Spock was my first big TV crush (I was 7 when the show debuted).

I was devastated when DeForest Kelley passed away. I am feeling the same loss now. His presence will forever be felt among us. He has inspired so many, and continues to do so.

I'm very saddened - not heartbroken because he had a long and happy life, but definitely a bit cast down.

Utterly a sad day for ST fandom, but also for the world. Leonard was such an amazing man whose talents will be missed.
