Last weekend I winterized the house. This consists of making sure the windows are closed, the storm windows are in place, air conditioners put away (did that before), cat hair blown out of the kitchen and bathroom radiators, new batteries for the thermostat, and reprogramming the thermostat. I like to sleep by an open window, but my conscience

sirius and remus are both big glass scratchers. we those glass doors between all the rooms on the first floor and if we ever close one you can be sure that one or both of the cats will be scratching on it in no time.

chloe's vigorous scratching at the back door is one possible reason for her recent weight loss. she really goes at it. and stays at it for hours at a time. she'll drop on to the floor for a few minutes and then get back up and go at it some more.
