A modest purposal

Today in Texas a law went into effect that says a woman must have a sonogram before she may have an abortion. I admit, I am pro-choice. I have a brain, and a uterus, and the former understands how the latter works. Being a woman does not make me stupid. And that is what this law boils down to: woman are too stupid to understand what an abortion ( Read more... )

Hey, is that the kind of sonogram that can be done from the outside or the one where the wand must be inserted vaginally? (New meaning to "up yours," isn't it?)

Outside, but then the doctor has to explain the condition of the baby to the woman.

Heard about that. Made me ashamed to admit I'm from Texas. I have to wonder if this was brought in on the coat tales of something more palatable. I'd not even heard that it was on the books before this. of course, I live under a rock, so take that as you will.

Is the supposition that since men technically have two heads that they are inherently smarter than their female counterparts? Because that's a load of bull, and I agree with your proposal wholeheartedly :)

And I'm gonna leave it at that before I jump on my soap box about the freedom of choice.
