I just have to stop
Giving you space in my head.
The sun is shining
And the dog park beckons me.
Little dog, want to go play? -
Late Night Tanka
Up too late again.
Night runs swiftly into day,
My thoughts trickle dry.
Sleeping sweetly with the dog,
My husband snuffles softly. -
First Tanka of Spring
Evil stepson gone;
Heavenly mercy granted.
Prayer life still is wrecked.
He lingers still in my thoughts
Like olive loaf in the fridge. -

This week, I'm really struggling spiritually. Yes, it's Holy Week, the end of Lent, and all that jazz. So maybe I'm just supposed to be conscious of how broken the world is right now. But my real problem is that I just can't wait until my stepson gets on a plane and goes back to the the Midwest. And he's scheduled to get on a plane tomorrow. ( Read more... )
