Voltaire, when he performs live, does monologs and bits of shtik in between songs. one time i heard him do a rap about Easter. he has a young son by a now-failed marriage, and he was driving the kid somewhere when they passed a church. the church notice board said something about Easter services, and the kid said, "what's Easter?" so Voltaire - who is a goth, and cultivates an ooh-i'm-so-evil-and-satanic vibe - said, "well, remember i told you about Jesus, and how he was executed for preaching against the local rulers? well, after he died they buried him, but he didn't stay buried - on the third day he rose from the grave -" and the kid burst in, "you mean Jesus is a zombie? wow, cool!" :-D
Voltaire is also a Trekkie, and very funny. and his day job is teaching animation at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. (he's also damned hot-looking.)
