I wish you all, my friends, a very blessed and peaceful Samhain.

Please spare a thought tonight for my good friend Kenn and his family who are dealing with the passing of his dad Richard a.k.a. "Kutch."

Kenn is special to me, and his pain is mine.

Samhain blessings to you and your friend. After midnight, I will go down to the seawall and pour libations for two former covenmates who died within the past few months. They were long-time partners, and one of them had an assortment of chronic and severe illnesses that had put him into a nursing home. Everyone expected him to die soon. And then his "healthy" partner dropped dead in the street of a sudden heart attack, on his way home from visiting the nursing home. That was at the end of May. The chronically ill one died last week. They were both very well-known in both the pagan and gay communities, as well as science fiction and comic fandoms, Celtic languages, Hindu paganism, and I'm sure I'm leaving out a few. And they were both friends of mine for a long time.

And, of course, the greater pagan community also lost Isaac Bonewits this past year. He gets a libation too.

This really is one fuck of a Samhain this year... may the new year be happier and more prosperous for us all...

I am sorry for your friend's loss; I don't know how hard it is to lose a parent, but I can imagine. You're a good friend and I know you are empathetic, so I am sorry for your loss as well.
