I understand why you probably want to end on a good note with her, but that doesn't mean you two have to remain friends. You saying she's been your best friend for so long and all that, i understand how you want to at least salvage any part of that possible, and you see friendship as the best way in doing so, you're trying to fill that hole she just left in you. You really gotta trust me on this one though, that whole friends thing never works out. Especially since now, is the time where angry feelings, hurt feelings, abandoned feelings all need to wear off. If you two just kept it at where you don't talk to each other, so you both have time to heal, it'd probably be the best. I know i tried to be friends with this guy Kevin i dated after we did finally break up. And it was so hard to stay broke up. He'd date a girl and then call me when he was dumped and then we'd date again. It's this little cycle of getting used that you can get caught in, so you just gotta be careful.
