Yeah, I give good customer service, but for all the wrong reasons. For example, I don't point to things: I take people places, because if I merely point, they'll wander aimlessly for a while and come and ask me again. It's a matter of efficiency and laziness. I get shopping carts for people merely because it's my fault that they're never in a logical place to begin with. Depending on the customer, I occasionally carry plants to the car because it saves the customer a trip. If I save the customer a trip, they're out of my life thirty seconds sooner than they would have otherwise been ( ... )

yeah I probably sounded snobby. I've just had a few really bad retail experiences lately and it's getting frustrating, I know there are good people out there.

Wow done on the 14th, I've been asked to stay on in the fall too! :S

Oh I wasn't implying that you sounded snobby...I just think it's hilarious that at Sheridan they actually took you aside and told you all this stuff, whereas in my job (I seem to have a pattern of this) they slapped me out there in the garden center alone in front of a cash register and told me to go to town...and while I was at it I better try to keep the plants alive, too. Oh, and a little while after that one of the managers came out and reeled off how the cash register worked in a mini-I-don't-have-time-for-this-garden-center-thing-training-session ( ... )
