Sadaam Hussein

I don't know why, but I watched the video of the hanging of Sadaam Hussein on YouTube. I told myself I wouldn't, but similar to a train wreck, I couldn't help it. Now I feel ill. I jumped when they dropped him. I was so busy watching his face that I didn't know when to expect the drop. He was talking to himself. I can only imagine, or rather ( Read more... )

I do the same thing (although I haven't watched that video or any of the beheading videos that have been out there). I'm surprised I haven't though. I get drawn because I'm curious. (I look at the yucky pictures/videos of dead people/people dying or being killed on snopes.com on occasion.) But after I've killed my curiosity, yeah, I feel sick.

(I hate thinking about ANYONE who knows they're about to die. I don't care who they are or how much they deserve it. It's just one of those things I can't fathom - what someone feels knowing they are going to die and they can't do anything about it.)

But in answer to your question: you're human. and we're a curious species.

I agree. It's all about human curiosity. I for one have never looked at those things. For one, K- accidently saw a be-heading and it really disturbed him (for obvious reasons) and two, why would I want to watch something that could possibly one day be myself. No way jose! Definitely kills the morale.

But finding a good side (although I really have to dig), by seeing the real stuff, perhaps more people won't take death so lightly. They say a lot of people don't now because we've become numb to violence (you know, the movies and such). You don't realize how real it is until you're ass deep in it.

Just a thought.
