Wow. Just wow. DISD decided last night they were going to lay off 550 teachers in core subjects! Everyone is really, really upset. Can you imagine? Because DISD is a douche and discovered millions of dollars in deficit, the teachers have to pay for it. Oh, but there is a bonus to it. They will provide the teacher who is layed off with

The worst part of those lay-offs will be the new class sizes. I hope you still have a job, and I REALLY hope that you don't end up with 40 freshmen per class period. Yuck!

I'd tell you to move down here, but there's a hiring freeze in SBISD, even on math & science (Subjects notorious for needing teachers). No money in the budget anymore. Economy sucks and school districts are hemorrhaging money on the bus costs.
