Not at all! I'm the same way. I'm just using this as a way to see if the games worth buying, and so far it is.

There's also a special sale going on for the SIMS3 this weekend, I think? It's like 19.99 with 5$ deposit on the Maxis website or something?

I downgraded upgraded to XP and my computer loves me for it. Kinda. But now the games are PERFECT and totally not laggy despite the requirements being below the minimum :D

Unfortunately, the audio hardware for my laptop isn't capable with XP, so it tends to die sometimes, but I just restart the computer and it works again.

only ever played the ps2 version which didn't compare to the PC

so, didn't know where to post this where you might actually read it, But just wanted to let you know we miss you. You were a great friend and I keep thinking that I never said that enough. I was nearly going to send you a letter in the post so many times, I was worried, now I just feel stupid.
