So, after much effort over the last week, leading up to Thursday, I finally managed to find a teammate to switch days off with, so that I managed to have Sunday off, instead of Friday. In fact, this teammate was so generous, he was willing to give me his Saturday off instead of my Thursday off, giving me an actual weekend off.
Wow, nice opportunity, but I had to decline.
You see, I had plans the following day, as many of you who read this Blog, already know. I had coffee, with Ms. Strawberry Strumpet, and had been looking forward to it all week.
So, regretfully, I turned my co-worker down.
Lo-and-behold, Thursday rolls around. I had plans for the Afternoon, and spent the morning getting around to them. Generally, weekly, or bi-weekly for the last few months, me and my friend Chris (<--- Terrance, Pissing off Grammar-Nazi's since 1984) have been going for lunch, at 1:00pm It's good-times, marred only by the fact that Muggn'z burned down awhile ago, and now we must conduct those lunches at Humpty's. We get together, discuss various geek/nerd/hellfire/brimstone associated things, and a goodtime is had by all involved.
So anyways, we do our lunch thing, and it finally wraps up towards 3:00. We go for a walk through the mall, visit a few people, get an orange-juice... Usual ritual for us. And as we are standing in CompuSmart, I get a text message. And yes, this is exactly how it appears on my phone.
From:Kaitlin
----Message----
Hi i cant come
out 2nite have
to go home
----End----
3:37P Thu Nov16
And my day goes downhill, starting from here. With tenacity, not showing the tenuous hold I have on my anger in the slightest, I respond with:
To:Kaitlin
----Message----
Okay, well, have
a good night.
------End------
4:00P Thu Nov16
and the last message that passes through my phone about this comes a bit later.
From:Kaitlin

Thanks,

....Sigh....
Grrr. Women.
I wouldn't be nearly so offended, even by the Text Messaging rather than calling (because she was at work, and I know that) but she could have at least explained why, or rescheduled. Ahh well. I suppose that answers that for now. I'll wait and see whether she is interested in calling and rescheduling but else-wise, *Shrug*
Then, after that, I decide instead to arrange to do something with Sam, who I had plans with originally for Thursday, but we cancelled due to other things. But then his work had a major malfunction, and he ended up having to attend to that. So no Sam-time for Terrance.
And Chris, who I wanted to do some gaming with, was otherwise engaged all night. Curses!
The day was saved a little bit, since I ended up spending a few hours with Pizza, and watching Howl's Moving Castle with Michelle (Ex) (<--- can anyone see the geek reference there?). That was good-times, that movie was awesome.
But still, getting stood up, then unable to spend anytime with other friends, was not good for the Trance Happy Factor.
This all having been said, in less than 30 hours, I will be at Suburbs, dancing my face off, and few things in the world can make be feel better than that fact. This is dulled a little bit, since I doubt Ms. Pixie will be there, but that disappointment is soothed, since I have Sunday off and do not have to worry about being in atrocious shape for work the following day.
So all-in-all, the score for Trance's day off? Trance: 2 The World: 5 (Getting stood up, by Text Message, with no explanation of why, counts as 3.) I actually came out pretty decent. At least I made it on the board.
Enough of me, more of you?
Schedule Modifications:
Saturday 24th: Hanging out with Marilyn's in the morning, hopefully, so I'm also not available after work on the 23rd.
Sunday 25th: Planning on Hangin' with The Jessyca, possibly with the Dinner-ing and Movie-ing.
December 7th: Working till 9:00 and then catching a flight very shortly afterwards (if everything works out) to B.C. and going to go paint the town red with Jocelyn and co. Goodtimes a-comin'!
Others will come, I'm sure.
Have
a good day all of you!
