Right? Like a Never Not Funny, a Doug Loves Movies, or a WTF. (Those are the three big ones I listen to.)
Maybe even a Jordan Jessie GO!
Video was kind of... I went alone the first time. They tell you not to film, but I know people do, as I've seen the youtube vids. So I think all I need is a gutsy friend willing to operate a camera. Shouldn't be an issue next time.
Ha, I think you were the one who got me into JJGO. I've become a big fan of Nerdist over the last year, which has given me a lot better appreciation of the craft and mechanics of stand-up. Hearing about you doing it is really neat!
Oooh! I keep meaning to listen to Nerdist. I love Hard and Phirm (We caught Mike Phirman a few weeks ago at the big comedy festival here. So good.)
Honestly, it was listening to all of those and hearing the nuts and bolts that finally made me put it together. It's something that I wanted to do since high school, and it isn't like I can just... turn in an application and get a job.
On top of that, I've never really lived in a place with a (good) comedy club and I've had the personal failing of not chasing my dreams. I went to sleep at 19, and only in the last few years have I really woken up. My move to Portland has very much been a part of that. It's shown me I only need to be marginally practical and can really attempt whatever the hell I want.

(I would like to join the coalition of people demanding video.)

I skipped this Tuesday because I was in Spokane for meetings. I'm trying to do one weekly and earn my chops.
