Summary: The pause before taking the final step.
Albus and Scorpius had entered the courtyard proper of the castle, and both of them had stopped to simply stare. The castle wasn't huge by ancient English standards, but it was large enough. It managed to appear both imposing and warm at once. The castle was constructed of gray stone, but there were candles in each window, and brightly colored pennants fluttered in the faint breeze.
"It's beautiful," whispered Albus. He cocked his head to one side. "Is that singing I hear?"
"I believe so," said Scorpius, grinning at his boyfriend. "It sounds like a welcome to me. Shall we?"
