Harry Potter, NPR and The Night Circus

Sep 25, 2011 16:34

I listen to NPR (National Public Radio) on my commute to and from work everyday.  Interestingly enough I first heard about the Harry Potter books on NPR when Prisoner of Azkaban was released back in 'well whenever that was', so I gave Philosopher's Stone a try and the rest shall we say is obsessive history,

So I find it fitting that on Friday I heard an interview about a new author's debut novel The Night Circus on the Diane Rhem show based out of Boston's WMAU, I was rather captivated by the author's interview and the  constant reference to JKR and how this was a novel for the generation of children (hrumph) who'd grown up on the Harry Potter world that weren't quite ready to give it up so to speak.

So I've purchased it in hopes that I find the same experience I did all those years ago when I heard another NPR radio review back then about a little known author known as J.K. Rowling.

If you're interested I'm including the interview on Diane Rhem and a review from Lynn Neary of All Things Considered.

If anyone purchases and reads the story let me know, I'd love to hear your thoughts about it.  Good Luck and Happy Reading.
