100 degrees at Austin Bergstorm Internationl Airport. First time a 100 degree day has been recorded in April in Central Texas. Rolling blackouts because of power problems in the grid, a bunch of plants are down for maintenance because April is usually a good time to do it.

Decided to turn on my Central A/C today, after multiple days in the 80's and it was 84 degrees inside a little after 2PM.

Gee, http://www.time.gov is down, most have gotten overloaded with everyone checking their clocks with the switch to daylight saving time excluding Arizone where my Mom lives since they don't follow it. Daylight Saving Time start at 2:00 AM on Sunday, I guess want to wait until most bars are closed. Next year, it's moved up to the second sunday in March and runs until the first sunday in November. So, we'll still be different than Europe (last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October).

So don't forget to set your timepieces back an hour!

Last night although warm, 80 degrees inside, I turned on the ceiling fan and got 7 1/2 hours of sleep, didn't wake up once, and for the past few months, I've been waking up 2 or 3 times a night.

Ny new Minolta X1 battery recharger requires a special power cord that they now won't deliver since they've got out of the camera business and refuse to honor backorders they had accepted (sold for $3.95). Can't find the cord anywhere for sale. Solved the problem by getting a voltage converter for $13.85 including shipping that arrived today, ( Read more... )

My sinuses have been draining for a few days, I tried some OTC meds that I had laying around on Friday night and it didn't work. Starting yesterday I started getting a cough, but not coughing up phlegm. Keep waking up every hour or so all night which I'd been doing to several nights. I just helped with the Elks Hoop Shoot, got there at noon with the first competition scheduled for 1PM (8 and 9 year olds), with 10 and 11 at 3PM, 12 and 13 at 5PM.
