My intersection partner this week is the exceptional marlawentmad. Please read her wondrous entry first!

Young one,

they cast eyes

weighted with tackle

and hooks

upon you,

that they might lure

and catch you

with their lines.

They fed you

that story

of Icarus,

and oh,

did it sink you-

“Don’t fly

too close

to the sun,”

came their bait,

and gaudily clothed

I enjoyed the depth of this poem, how many ways it can be read.

Oh wow, I just LOVE this! There’s is so much... the use of “I heard” “I felt” “I swayed” and the ending from “you aren’t a fish child” to the end. I love your choice of words, how they sound together.

Stunning.

There is hardly a force on this Earth more powerful than the giving life of water, whether dripping or trickling or flowing or raging, it has the capacity to permanently transform everything it touches.

There are echos of Jehovah's answer to Job here, though I don't know if that that was intentional, but it invokes the same passion of inspiration and strength, and there is a benevolent and sovereign wisdom in it.

Because you didn't give us any music with this piece, though its rhythm still inspires goosebumps, I thought I would share a favorite work that uses the imagery of a river flow as a metaphor for the strength of humanity.

There's nothing quite the equal of water!

That particular allusion wasn't intentional, though I am honored the piece could invoke that tone.

Wow, the choir nailed it! Thanks for sharing :)

And thank you again for your kind feedback <3

This is awesome! I love your music but a poem for this intersection was the right choice. Your pieces are great together! I love the cadence to this the most, and your water-strength imagery is lush and killer. I hope it’s warmed up enough where you are that you can get out and enjoy some water nature fully!

Yes, summer is finally here! Though we do get an odd cool day here and there.

Thank you so much! I am really happy with how the two poems came out, and how they interact. So glad that a rhythm came through!
