There's a regional gas station chain called Kangaroo Express. Some of you may be familiar with it; they're often attached to BP stations (or places that look like they may have been BP in a previous life). It's a pretty standard gas station, except in the summer.
In the summer, they offer their "Roo Cups"; you buy a cup for about $7, and all refills are $.25 all summer long, which includes both sodas and Icees. For people who have to drive excessive distances to see their friends, this is a blessing. A quarter for a giant soda! Huzzah!
Last week, I sucked it up and bought my Roo Cup from the station that is terribly, terribly close. My first refill was actually at a different station, and I got Coke. Basic, simple, whatever. My second refill was a cherry Icee - not great, but far from terrible.
And then I returned to my local Kangaroo Express and met the holy grail of Roo Cup refills.
It's like someone dumped
Stewart's Orange and Cream Soda into a damn Icee machine and laced it with crack (well, okay, maybe a generic version of the soda, but that was definitely my first thought upon tasting this). I cannot stop drinking this. And it's only a quarter per cup! GAH. And it's supposed to be 105 degrees outside in two days (only 102 tomorrow...).
WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME.
In other news, I sold my house and moved. It's fun, I guess.
