I love the Olympics so, so much. It's a legacy from my late grandfather (which falls among things such as my forehead and the Christmas bottle of Benedictine - to say nothing of stamp collecting), who used to donate $20 to the US Olympic team annually. In return, he got postcards or stickers. The highlight of this collection is the bumper sticker ( Read more... )

Unfortunately, sports is the one thing I don't DVR, so I don't have it. I'd heard that NBC wasn't going to show them online, but I think they have clips? I don't know. Parts of it were pretty awesome (e.g., Kenneth Branagh wandering around and looking smug; James Bond interacting with the Queen) and parts were less than awesome (e.g., Paul McCartney's sagging face).

OLYMPICS!! I totally understand the flailing.

As of right now I have NBC on my TV, muted, while I'm watching live coverage online in one tab, and the complete schedule of the olympics open in another tab.

Dude don't even get me started. I've got NBC on my main TV (women's indoor volleyball), MSNBC on the picture-in-picture (currently badminton), and men's gymnastics on my iPod. I'm actually half-considering fully screwing up my sleep schedule for the next couple weeks - yay working from home - so I can watch everything live. Like the swimming that's airing on NBC tonight that's already happened. I NEED TO KNOW THESE THINGS LIVE.

Thank heavens this only happens once every two years - and that Rio is only an hour ahead of EDT for the next summer Olympics (I'm screwed with Sochi...).
