I mean, I can accept bows and swords in, say, "The Hunger Games" because it's entirely contrived anyhow. "Revolution" appears to be trying to legitimately explore the human condition in a post-electrical world and they... don't have guns?

I may have to watch an episode just to see if they address that at all. And if they say "Oh, lol, no ammo", it's game over.

I googled about it (because I'd noticed that), and the only thing that makes sense as an explanation is the fact that it's fifteen years later. IDK, maybe arrows are easier to make/reuse than making new bullets without electricity? IDK. But looks like JJ Abrams other new show wasn't renewed, so another JJ Abrams show.

I could maybe see it if it was the UK, where people don't have such ready access to guns, but it's not like swords and crossbows are just lying around either!

The other thing that bothers me (I haven't seen this particular show, this is just a general complaint) about a lot of post-apocalyptic scenarios is how they never seem to use bikes. Finding fuel for vehicles is always a really big deal, yet bikes are human-powered, plentiful even in countries where not everyone rides, and nippy enough to help you escape zombies/able to go where pursuers in motorised vehicles can't....

Apparently it's set 15 years after? So maybe we've run out of bullets? And forgotten how to make gunpowder? It is still likely to set off my Gun-Are-Not-New-Tech rant.

I do like the idea that the first thing one should do upon the world ending is head to the nearest Renaissance Faire.
