Disney bought Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion.

That is the biggest thing I'm looking forward to. Lucas swore the originals would never see the light of day again. I fully expect Disney to do a re-release right away. However, I also acknowledge that they will do the same crap move they do with all of their animateds. Sell them for 4-6 months, then "put them in the vault".

Thought 1: Mte. o_O

I sort of have faith they won't make it completally aweful. Allthough ep 1-3 were pretty bad so, idk. In any case, nothing will ever be as awesome as the original movies (without the redigitalizing) so there is no danger in being disappointed.

I read years and years ago that Lucas had written 9 episodes before filming the original movie. He started where he did because (a) "the tech didn't exist yet" (and I personally call foul on that, considering how much tech he *created* to make IV), and (b) knew that if he started at the beginning, he'd never get a chance to film Ep.II. So there's three more stories in a can somewhere waiting to see the light of day.

I'm curious about those other three episodes. But I also feel that Return of the Jedi was actually a pretty good place to end it. The characters we cared about each got what they wanted. Luke became a Jedi like his father - and managed to resist the Dark Side in the process. Leia and her Rebel Alliance defeated the Empire. Han got the girl. Yoda and Obi Wan brought balance to the Force through the real Chosen One.

The "every two years" thing scares me. Are they going to start filming the Extended Universe stories? Where does it end? There needs to be closure somewhere, not an interminable Disney-fied franchise.
