Dear Girl,
This is probably the clearest opinion of this film. If you had not carried it through to the end I would have been bitterly disappointed.I admired Kimura so much in this role. I felt he had the personality of the samurai exactly correct. As you look back on it you realise that it is a perfect story perfectly told and perfectly performed. There is a restraint by the director that reins in any extra activity from any of the actors.
Your writing here deserves inclusion in a book.

Reading this again I still feel the same way about your review. You have the gift to put the words in order and render me first irritated and then at the end I know you really watched this movie and truly understood what it meant. Most of all you loved the actors.
