people often lie because they are unwilling to be responsble for their actions. they see lieing as an easier alternative to telling the truth and then they just hope everything works out, which it quite often doesn't.

i think its actually that people are delaying because they are afraid to bring up what will hurt people, if you think about it, nobody likes letting someone down or giving someone bad news.... and when you look at things in a real world point of view... people are selfish. We aren't delaying to save the other person, or give them a few moments of comfort... we do it for ourselves... WE don't want to say the thing that will suck for someone else to here... and because we can't make ourselves say it... we just delay, to save ourselves.... Selfishness, thats what it all comes down to

Why does the human race (as a whole, not individuals) believe that it's better to tell kind lies and be comforting than to be honest?

because it's easier.

So that you all know, I do plan to respond to you all, I'm simply waiting a bit and then I'm going to get it all in one feedback post.

Would any of you responding to this be interested in a community for these types of things, where one person throws out a thoughtful statement like this one and everyone tosses in their belief at why (insert topic here) is how it is?
