"Why are we taking a detour? And was this your idea or the TARDIS's?" If it was the former she was going to be cross. If it was the latter, she would be even more cross because it meant the Doctor wouldn't get around to fixing whatever malfunction the TARDIS had that kept sending them to the wrong places.

"Mmm." He leaned back and pretended to study the screen, looking thoughtful. He really liked the way propping his hand under his chin looked in this regeneration, all properly thinky and intelligent and things. It was a nice regeneration, all things considered - though the chin was a little bit on the large side. "Definitely the TARDIS's. She picked up on a mauve alert - coming from America, of all the places. Still, bit better than ending up on a barrage balloon in the middle of the London Blitz, eh?" Except Amy wasn't wearing a Union Jack shirt. He was pretty sure that being Scottish prevented her from doing things like that.
