[She looks down into her cup. It didn't taste like she thought it would, but she hadn't thought much of it.]

I don't know. Is it not supposed to taste like this?

I don't think so.

[and now she's not so sure she should be drinking it] Do you think we should tell someone? I've never been to one of these things.

Neither have I? I guess ... so long as it's not hurting anyone?

[shrugs]

Maybe it was just a bad batch.

You're probably right. [another sip before she smiles] I'm Savannah.

So do you go here?

I started going here in the beginning of the year.

I go to [insert private Christian school I haven't named here]. I came here with Lance Sweets, do you know him?

[brightly]

Yeah! Lance is in some of my classes. He's a nice guy.

Yeah, he is. [a beat before she rambles on] My school doesn't have a prom. When I told Lance I wanted to come here, he offered to be my date.

[fromminnesota]

That's really sweet of him. You guys must be good friends.

[nods] Since we could talk.

That's nice. I ... had friends like that once.
