[ If one listens carefully enough, they might find traces of plenty of emotions in Ange's initial sigh, hidden somewhere in the subtext - anger sadness confusion hopelessness - but it's covered up as well as she can manage only a moment later when she actually speaks up. ]This again? You'd think our captors would figure out a different sort of ( Read more... )

[He knows she must be feeling awful. At least as awful as he, maybe more. They're only dreams, but....he knew his was true. Well, no, not true - it wasn't....like that -]

Yeah. I'm on my way. [Maybe it's a little early, but it doesn't really occur to him that she might mind. They're friends and they need huggles, right? ;_; (Puppies are good at huggles.)]

Are you okay?

[ No, she doesn't mind - or rather, even if she would mind she doesnt'say anything about it. Instead she just gives a little nod at his question. ]

Yeah. I'm fine. [ It's not entirely a lie - as long as she can just keep telling herself that it was a dream, a lie and then focus on other people's dreams entirely she can push it all to the back of her head. ]

I'm just annoyed they felt the need to bother us with that again.

[he doesn't have an answer to that. Why would they have been shown these things? How did these things happen, anyway? It must be their own minds making the dreams up, just like normal dreams....right? And somehow they were linked together. Some sort of telepathy?

Of course, if they are do come from their own minds, then they must be something they're unconsciously thinking. Maybe they do have a sliver of truth to them.

He's kind of bummed. :( ]

Yeah.

[ Come on, bummed puppy, come to your owner who is just as bummed but doesn't let it show at all.. ]

That guy.. was your father, right?

[There's a smile, almost totally mirthless, in Souji's voice. For once, he isn't completely hiding how tired he is.]

I suppose it's different every time, like watching a movie. ...It's not all bad, though, I guess.

[Regardless of how much his own dream lingers in his mind, making him feel cold and ill.]

Are you okay?

It's just annoying. They could stand to learn some tact.

[ And she's saying it pretty casually, as if she's talking about people leaving dog poop all over the sidewalks rather than seeing all those horrible things. ]

Yeah. [ She does sound slightly tired as well though, under the deadpan. ] And you?

At least we saw the fae. [He focuses on that, rather than his yellow-eyed reflection.]

...I'm alright.

I'm not going to forget that sight again. [ It's not quite a horrified tone, but more determined. ] If she pops up again, we'll know.

[ And as she pauses for a moment, she can't help but hear that same voice with a very different tone, with a twisted expression and yellow eyes-- ]

... Funny how you get used to these things. [ No, you don't. ]

Well... The dreams showed us what did it. Assuming it can't change shape, we know what to go after.

It wouldn't surprise me if it could change shape, considering it's one of those Fae, but.. still, we'll find it now.

One way or another.

Just let me know when you're ready. I'll make preparations in the meantime.

Yeah.. It might be for the best if we at least pick a moment to go when we're in the best condition to fight that thing. We don't know anything other than its appearance yet, after all.

The captors find it quite effective.

Maybe they're the type of people who keep laughing even after the jokes are long old and stale and nobody else finds them funny anymore.

It doesn't change the fact. What can a person do in a situation like this?

As far as we know, there's no way of resisting or fighting against these dreams. No rowan or iron works against it. We just have to grit our teeth and bear it.

They've done this before? For what purpose?

About a few months ago there was a similar string of dreams everyone experienced.

As to their goals.. who knows. They probably just find it entertaining to play around with us like this.

They have no right to want such entertainment from us.

They didn't have a right to pull us all into this place in the first place, right? And yet they did. That's just how some things are in this world.. completely bothersome and inconsiderate.
