Jack 'O Lantern carving and fellowship will start at noon and continue through the day. Ritual will be late. We will not be starting until the trick or treaters have died down because it's just so disrupting. Since ritual will be late (I'm guessing we'll start around 10ish), feast will be set out before ritual instead of the customary afterwards. The weather may be cold, so dress accordingly.
Bring something (if you'd like) to set on our altar for the dead. Photos and mementos are customary, but whatever you'd like within reason is fine. Please be sure to pick up your photos/mementos/whatevers when you leave, otherwise we will assume you wish them consigned to the fire. (Actually, if you wish it consigned to the balefire, just remember to take it into circle with you. If for some reason you really want ME to deal with it, just talk to me before circle.)
Bring something (if you'd like/need to) that needs to be discarded into the balefire during ritual. It can be just about anything that you wish to get rid of, say goodbye to, or dispose of in a sacred manner. During the year, all the intentions the coven has lit candles for are written on slips of paper and put inside our altar cauldron. Those slips of paper are consigned to the balefire. As is any residue from charged candles, festival spirit bags, and like items from the past year. Please do keep the noxious plastics and chemicals to a bare minimum.
Bring whatever you want to drink (alcoholic and non) and something to share for feast. I'm bringing a spicy Thai meat dish. J & J are bringing desert stuff. S is bringing a side dish. H,A, & L are bringing a meat dish and a side. If you can, please let me know what you're planning on bringing and I'll post a last minute tally on Thursday so we can be sure we're not going to have the "chicken feast" or the "salad feast" or the "bread feast". *G*
If you can stay all day and all night, then come for whatever part works for you.If you need directions, holler and I'll send them to you. If you haven't been "invited" and would like to come, just speak up. If you think you may need to crash for the night, let me know. If you haven't already let me know you're planning on coming, now is the time to do so. However, if you decide to want to come at the very last minute, we would rather you show up unannounced, late, and empty handed, rather than not show up at all.
