Playing the Salmon...

...following my river to its source.

Today I had a free afternoon, and in a whim I decided to go to the source of the river Tietê, that runs through my city, São Paulo.
After a 2-hour trip eastward, I arrived at Salesópolis and went to the Parque da Nascente do Tietê (Tietê´s Source Park), thanking the Deities that it wasn´t raining (there are earth tracks, all of them somehow muddy but walkable).

The source itself is a pond at the base of a great rock group, full of ferns and other high-umidity plants; the water is crystal-clear, with small fishes swimming there easily seen aganst the clear sands of the pond´s bottom.
It´s technically drinkable and poluent-free, but because of the ever-falling leaves and small twigs, the Park´s management canalized and filtered the same water from a smaller, hidden source near there, and it´s a real delight to drink it right from the font itself.

I couldn´t meditate properly (the Park´s guide was a sympathetic fellow but too much talkative to me) but I managed to do a little prayer to the Deity of the Well and left a small rough aquamarine from my stone collection as an offering to It, and also a part of my lunch (some beef and dark beer, packed inside a bit of bread) to all deities, Spirits and Ancestors of the surroundings; later, maybe tonight, I´ll try to contact the Well (aided by the vial of water I brought home with me, and by the powers of Full Moon).
