Outwardly, there's no sign of anything grave: Allen keeps walking, sparing a smile here and there for anybody who glances at him. But the sky's darkening-there isn't much of that now. He's nearly on the outskirts when he glances up-but that's only to nudge Timcampi to take to the air with a little laugh. The past few months haven't been nearly enough to wean Allen off of his dependence on his eye for any sense of danger. He doesn't notice that he's being watched at all. ]
