Frey's an optimistic idealist and a hero type, the kind who values his friends, fights for those he cares about and is upright and honorable and all that. The only dark stain would be, well, he’s lead an army in a civil war and has some self worth issues. Basically: Protagonist with a good heart.
Also, he’s carrying on his right hand the dawn rune. It’s a shard of the sun rune, which is kind of like the power of the sun personified. But I’m not sure if she’d be able to sense that kind of “light”. It’s highly magical, though, and mildly sentient.
Aldo is a derp, but he’s an honest, good guy who died trying to give someone a chance at having a friend. Toph is a bit of a brat, but also a good kid.
Considering I beat the game, I'm completely fine with spoilers.
Hrm. As for the darkness/light issues. I'm incredibly iffy on Akira. She is technically one of the world's 13 artificially-- 12 "true" princesses. And their entire powers are pretty much driven on their affection towards their special person. A-and despite her rough exterior since she has to act as a male per orders, she really does have a good, bright, and encouraging soul.
And putting it like that... I kinda want to say yes to the light bit? ;A; I-I'm not even. gfhgh
All spoilers are fine by me! That applies to this journal and mmmfilletofsoul.
As for light and darkness, Ion here is probably the most pure-hearted character in his canon and is definitely Disney Princess™ material. He's even kidnapped all the time; he might as well be a princess. :|
For Cheyenne, I'm a little unsure. Although she isn't evil herself, her powers and her species in general are all very evil, and because she's the product of a curse, just touching her gives off bad vibes. I have it all explained in her permission post, but for now I'd say she cancels out to somewhere in the center, maybe leaning closer to the darkness-side of things.

Yeah, I think Cheyenne will probably fly juuust below Aqua's radar.

chikaidestroyer would probably ping Aqua just a little, with darkness.
book_of_chaos is pretty neutral, though he leans more towards light.
