My mom said the other dogs seem alright, and big props for not dying!
:) I hope you're not as flaky as I am when it comes to phone calls, ha ha.

I'm so sorry, Alleene. Pets dying is like family dying. Our family dog had to be put down seven years ago, and I still can't talk about her without choking up :) so it's understandable.

Thanks for the empathy and I'm sorry for your loss :(

If you look up "empathy v sympathy" ('cause I was only 90% sure before I started writing) you'll first get Wiki's article that tells you not to "confuse empathy with either sympathy, pity, emotional contagion, or telepathy" When would you ever confuse empathy with telepathy?

Maybe like, if you think you can feel someone's pain TELEPATHICALLY? Wikipedia's awesome. Is empathy the correct term in this situation? I would have said sympathy. I learned today!

I guess you could have used either in this situation, but since empathy means "I feel your pain" as opposed to "that sucks, and I may or may not have been through the same situation", I felt empathy was more specifically appropriate.
And, good point about telepathy...though, unless you actually meant to say telepathy, that would be a stupid mistake, ha ha.

A while back, my doggies ran away. I don't know if you remembered that one time I freaked out when Mia ran off, but I kinda didn't let it get to me when they both ran away for good. Kinda blocked it out, like you talked about.

This post made me cry (that FM song...goddamnit). Bandit was a great dog, and I'm sorry he's gone.

He was getting old, and my parents saw it coming. He couldn't even walk anymore at that point, and his eyes were glassy like he was going blind. He led a good long life, and my parents said he was walking and active until the morning before it happened.

Yes I know it's inevitable, but that doesn't make it continuous or much easier to deal with.

I do remember, and I understand. I hope Mia's doing good wherever she is now. She's too sweet and easy to love not to have found someone to take care of her.
Thanks for the condolences.

I love you too Ceci, and I'm glad that candle holder got a good home :). Don't worry, when it's my time to go, I'll find you and take you out.
