Summary: you were just an island, for he, a continent could never fit inside you. a fuck you to the universe that never let you love yourself.

You ask for the world,
and the world gives you a boy
here it is, it says, treasure it, love it, he is your world
and you say to the world,
but i wanted the world
and the world says
this is it.

and so you think that maybe he is everything
and you start to build a world with him at its centre
and he is good to you and he is kind to you
but you think you might want more.

and so you ask the world again,
can i have the world?
and the world says
selfish girl, you already have the world

So you go back to your world
and your life becomes his life
but his life never becomes yours
and he leaves you,
says,
i have to go and find my world.

You ask the world,
why did he leave?
And the world says,
you were just an island,
for he, a continent, could never fit inside you.

So you go,
you find a boy that is like an island
and you tell the world,
this is my world?
And the world replies, good girl.

But you shake your head,
no, this is my boy,
my world is me.
