Yes, I agree. Star Trek was awesome!

And though it's *technically* an alternate universe-type reboot...TOS-characters are STILL the shit, and everyone played them PERFECTLY. The torch for my man-crush on Kirk has been successfully passed.

Nimoy wasn't really so much acting in this movie as he was simply letting himself be filmed while in costume. He's been the icon of Star Trek for 40 years, and (like Spock) has come to terms with passing on the torch. He's said in an interview that seeing the movie was extremely emotional for him. My eyes welled up just reading it.
