Ok..so we've finally decided on which island to go to: MAUI. Now we just need to know where on Maui. Anyone have any idea?! We really really need info.
Thanks! I'm so excited. haha even though it's months away. Ok....I'll look for hotels in that area then. Any recommendations? Which island are you on again?!
maui - my two cents worth =)ginger_picklesApril 11 2007, 17:03:27 UTC
i don't know if you've gone to Maui and come back yet, but here's my feedback.
when i went to maui last summer, i stayed in Kaanapali. if i remember correctly, i stayed at the ResortQuest Kaanapali Shores, which is a decent drive into town.
here's a Web site for your perusing purposes that I just found to give you some 411.
you should definitely do one of those island bus tours. it's amazing! the tour guide takes you through about 70% of the island without you having to drive yourself. plus, they take you to this Macadamian nut farm where you can buy all sorts of tasty varieties and there's this one hidden place that sells banana bread that is simply to die for.
enjoy your Hawaii trip and be sure to take plenty of pictures!
Maui is definitely more scenic and because the pace of life there is much more relaxed, I think if we all lived there, we'd live longer. ;)

We're actually going to Honolulu. Got our tickets and all already... :)
I keep hearing that about Maui but since we've never been there, we decided to do the toursy thing and go to Honolulu. Hopefully that was the right decision but then...any decision to go to Hawaii is a good one I would think. :P Of course...I was a lot more excited a week ago but now .. not as excited. :\

go to Haleakala (volcano) to watch the sunrise, Iao needle, Hana, Tedeshi vineyards in the upcountry, etc.
