I can tell I'm in my mid twenties. People all around me (okay, on Facebook) are: getting cars, houses, and spouses. And one child. I am... getting more school. And... spending money. Which is cool with me. But the biggest drag right now of being a student at 24 is... I'm nearly 25. And that's the age I get kicked off my parent's insurance ( Read more... )

I went through some of the same problems last year, when I wasn't eligible for my Mom's insurance. I went to UCare, with the state of Minnesota. When I fell last fall and cracked a rib or two, I went to Urgent Care and never paid a dime for it.

I was a student and didn't work much, so they took that into consideration.

Maybe Washington has something like that?

Though I'm still a MN resident... and I'm not eligible for financial aid, so I'm not eligible for UCare (I think I looked into this after I graduated in 2005. Thanks though. I'll have SOMETHING, I'm just appalled at the quality of what I'll have. The US really needs universal health care, it would solve so many problems.
