I've been struggling with some depression/general funk/sadness for approximately two months now. Two days ago, I had a particularly bad day set off by people stepping on my toes every couple hours consistently at work. Depression/anxiety is the worst. I've been having a rough time lately too, and I'm blaming it somewhat on winter. I've been reading a book about Buddhist "lovingkindness" meditation practice though, and I think it might be a productive place for me to start. I've tried to start a regular meditation practice in the past and given up, but I really think I need to keep trying. Sending peaceful thoughts your way!

You can do it, Em! Falling off the healthy eating/diet bus is always crappy, but I have faith in you, veggie lady - the cravings will go away. And thinking about talking to your roommate about difficult issues is ALWAYS worse than actually doing it: trust me on that one. Don't be scared! You were always such a "strong woman" role model for all of us in college, this is just a rough patch.

I think getting a cat will help lower your stress levels, i.e. cuddling. Making a lot of little short-term goals is also a good idea, especially if you pick small and stressless things like "I'm gonna write the best Rayne fic ever by Friday!" or "I'm gonna knit an adorbs baby hat and donate it to a shelter, just for fun!"

You have some great goals and yeah they're scary but they aren't unachievable. I have faith in you!

Things we learn about ourselves, especially when they are unexpected, are always interesting. Glad you trust us enough to share your discoveries with us!

I'm by your side and have your back 100%. Feel free to vent or cry or whatever you need to me any time.
