So I finally got my third strike in my writing group. It wasn't a surprise - I don't have a large group of people I can call upon to vote for my work. I probably would have taken a strike within the next week anyway, though. When Sharon is here, I'm not writing, I'm spending my time with her and that's the way it should be. She arrives on Thursday

You know, considering the list of fauna that populates your yard from time to time, one would wonder whether you really DO live in a metropolis! Around here, the wild turkeys tend to stay pretty much out of the settled areas. Could be the creek area offers them the cover - just like our village creek shelters our flock of roosters?

About the prompt and Sharon, you're absolutely correct, and that's a total relief. I'm fairly certain I would have taken my last strike anyway this time, because my time is taken up with her and any last-minute things I need to get wrapped up before she arrives.

I must ask, where do you live? I get so frustrated when people talk about their home territory but don't mention where it is. To even up the question/answer tally, I live in Southern California and I am Kris's mom. He, as you must know, now lives two hours' drive southwest of Melbourne, Australia in a cute, friendly small town in the country.

I live in a suburb of St Paul, Minnesota, up here in the frozen Northlands.
You're Kris' Mom? I had no idea. I sent him a bee pendant from Ukraine a few months ago when I was buying a spider for myself and saw the pendant, thinking it was a perfect gift for someone into bees. I enjoy reading about his adventures.
