Hi, found you through a link from icon_help. How exactly do I go about changing the extentsion? All that happens is I'm able to rename the file. Am I totally missing something? Thanks :)

You might want to take a look, since some of the info you have is actually incorrect.

I think the squidge FAQ you mentioned is probably mine - but the old version at the old site (it was on Squidge.org). The new one is updated to include PSP 8 and PS 6-7 compatibility.
