Based on the stuff visible in your screenshot, I'm going to guess the bottom middle one is Winamp, the second-row left one is AVG, third-row middle one is Photoshop and the second-row right one is Firefox. (Keirstan got Firefox before I did.)
Top-right looks like the Quicktime icon, but we think it might be IE. Third-row left looks similar to the Photoshop one, so I'm going to guess Illustrator. We're pretty unsure, but we're going to guess Skype for the polo mint one (top-left).
That leaves us with top-middle (hideous orange-on-purple), second-row middle (stripey orange+white) and third-row right (solid blue).
Is the blue one notepad? "Show desktop"? Is one of the others some IM program?
Yep, that's Pidgin. The blue circle on white is Show Desktop. I stylised a few of them quite heavily to make them fit in with the aesthetic.
The all-blue one is Soulseek; you can see the regular Soulseek icon on the bottom right of my desktop (it doesn't usually have that red bit on it). The white on green one is MicroTorrent. I'm guessing you won't be familiar with either of those on account of not being an illegal downloads kinda guy.

You should know the other one, though.
