Room 516, Thursday Evening

Kaylee was starting to get settled into her new room. The extra space meant more room for all of her random engine parts. Unless, of course, she acquired more.

Currently, she was putting Christmas lights up. She really didn't care that the holiday was over. They were pretty.

Demyx was in his room across the hall, but the pretty lights in Kaylee's room distracted him. So he crossed to her room and poked his head in. "Those are pretty."

"Yeah. I know Christmas is over and all, but I think they look nice," Kaylee said with a grin. "You're Demyx, right?"

She was trying to remember if they had ever spoken before.

Demyx didn't remember her except from seeing her in the halls, but he could be a space cadet sometimes. "Yeah, that's me. What's Christmas?"

"It's a holiday that just passed," Kaylee explained. "It's really an excuse for people to give gifts to each other."

She figured it might be easier to leave all the religious stuff out of it.

With a whole bunch of newbies to bump into and greet, Alphonse was hall wandering. He usually did it when he was bored anyway, because there always was someone he knew to run into eventually. But when he peered inside an open door only to spot Kaylee inside it, he stopped in his tracks, a little surprised. "Hey," he said with a wave. "You moved?"

"Hi Al!" Kaylee greeted. "Yeah, few days ago. Figured I needed the room for all this." She pointed out all the spare engine parts sitting on a shelf on the other side of the room.

"Oooh. That'll do it, huh?" Alphonse took a quick look around. "Also made room for some decorations too, I see."

"I know Christmas is over, but the lights are so shiny," Kaylee said. "Couldn't resist."

Armony had left her room with the intention of seeking out some form of nourishment, when she noticed the next door down was open. Blinking, she poked her head in curiously. "Hello?"

"Hello! You're new!" Kaylee said excitedly. She always did like meeting new people. "I'm Kaylee."

[arumonii]

Well that was certainly a friendly greeting. Armony smiled. "That I am," she said, nodding. "Nice to meet you, Kaylee; I'm Armony." She paused awkwardly in the door, then took a few steps inside and offered her hand.

Kaylee took her hand and gave her a cheerful smile. "Nice to meet ya, Armony."
